Illustrated web feature header

I was commissioned to create a feature Header for the Ecnmy – an informative website that offers a new approach to the economy, making it more understandable and accessible. They recently added an 'Ecnmy Explores' section, covering topics in more detail, such a Sport and Food. They asked me to illustrate the header for the Food section, including some of the elements from within the articles.

Because the Ecnmy website uses bold colour, I wanted the illustration to be complimentary of this, using the brand colours and also using flat RGB colour rather than my other textured work in order to simplify it and keep the colour vibrant. I also wanted the illustration to have a 'quirky' and 'fun' feel, in keeping with making the economy more accessible. I initially supplied a rough visual based on their supplied template and dimensions, along with suggested colours. I then went on to produce the final illustration in Photoshop.
